BREITLING WATCHES
There is an adventurous spirit captured within each Breitling watch. Crafted for flyers, surfers, filmmakers, and divers, the brand’s all-purpose elegant sports and dress watches embody the same passion that prompted people to scale mountains and sail into the distant horizon. Breitling makes quality technical watches—instruments for professionals—that withstand the toughest conditions. Each chronograph is vigorously tested and built to withstand the elements, ensuring that only the best are sent out into the world. These everlasting collector items are crafted to be worn, respected, and then passed down to the next generation.
Breitling is also committed to innovation. Its development of the chronograph led to the creation of its iconic Navitimer, the predecessor to today’s smartwatch. The Navitimer was the pioneering pilot flight tool, thanks to its use of a slide rule to calculate metrics like airspeed and fuel consumption. To this day, aviators rely on the Navitimer as a backup navigation system. Breitling’s innovative streak has only expanded since, delivering watches that continue to exceed expectations.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Breitling can trace its roots back to 1884, when Léon Breitling began producing pocket watches and measuring tools in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Due to the quality of each chronograph he produced, Breitling’s work was soon adapted for scientific and military applications, where accuracy is vital. It was not until the late 1970s that the Breitling family sold the company to passionate watchmaker and pilot Ernest Schneider, who took the brand into a bold new era and fresh new look. Jumping ahead to modern times, Breitling’s rich heritage is now preserved and celebrated by CVC Capital Partners and to this day continues to challenge and revolutionize the watchmaking industry.
BUILT FOR AVIATORS AND ADVENTURERS
Technology remains at the forefront of everything Breitling creates. This is demonstrated by the brand’s beloved Breitling Navitimer. First developed in the 1950s with a flight-specific slide rule, it is still an essential companion for pilots and aircraft designers. Further horological advances were made by the company in the 1980s, when it reimagined its Chronomat watches by introducing bezel riders and an automatic chronograph caliber.
WATCHES FOR PROFESSIONAL DIVERS
Breitling, having conquered the skies, also created a collection of watches exclusively for divers: the SuperOcean Heritage line. For more than 60 years, the company has invested time and talent into creating chronometers that can withstand the ocean’s depth and power. Robust and reliable, these watches have gained a strong following from water sports enthusiasts as well as professional divers. Back on dry land, Breitling’s intelligent is made for explorers, able to withstand tough conditions, with shock resistance, high functionality, long-lasting power reserves, and clear date displays.
HIGH-FLYING PARTNERSHIPS
Breitling has supported the Breitling Jet Team since 2003 as a perfect extension of the brand’s rich aviation heritage. Breitling also partnered with British luxury car manufacturer Bentley and was the first watchmaker to design an onboard clock for the carmaker’s flagship model, the Continental GT. Since 2018, Breitling has worked with Ocean Conservancy to organize beach cleanups and educate people on how to stop the spread of pollution. In addition, Breitling is the official timekeeper for the Six Nations Championship, which consists of the following six nations: France, England, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. Through these relationships, Breitling looks to continue its dedication to technological advancement, human passion, and constant progress.
BEST-SELLING BREITLING WATCHES
For over a century, Breitling has produced fantastic watches that meet a strict standard for precision, function, and reliability. Each watch seemingly caters to a specific group—from pilots and divers to automobile enthusiasts—but they all embody the same innovative spirit that has become a hallmark of the Swiss brand. Find your Breitling watch below:
Breitling Chronomat
This classic timepiece, first introduced in the 1980s, is known for its distinctive bezel rider tabs (for added grip while wearing gloves) and automatic chronograph caliber. Another distinguishing feature of the Chronomat is the rouleaux bracelet, composed of stacked round or oval links, giving the watch a vintage, elegant look.
Popular versions of this model include the Breitling Chronomat B01 42. This 42mm stainless steel piece comes with a 70-hour power reserve, allowing for undisturbed explorations, a daring 200m (660ft) water resistance, plus an array of unique dial colors to choose from—black, blue, silver and copper. Also explore the Super Chronomat B01 44 and Chronomat Automatic GMT 40.
Breitling Navitimer
Any time you mention Breitling, the Navitimer comes to mind. This revered Breitling watch has been in constant production since 1952, undergoing several revisions over the years. Designed for pilots and aviation enthusiasts alike, the Navitimer’s most distinctive feature is its slide rule, bi-directional bezel, which allows pilots to display extreme performance by conducting various flight calculations—speed, distance, fuel consumption, climbing and descending rates.
The most popular (and more recent) version of this model is the Navitimer B01 Chronograph. whose 43mm case, black dial with contrasting sub-dials, and a transparent sapphire caseback revealing the brand’s Caliber 01, make it highly sought after.
Breitling Superocean
The Breitling Superocean has long been a classic dive watch, and the ultimate sea-farer’s companion. Introduced in the 1950s, it was designed specifically for professional, recreational, and military divers. No surprise, then, that its water resistance is impressive—up to 2000 meters (6600 feet) for some versions. It also comes with a unidirectional bezel and high-contrast markers for easy readability.
The Superocean Automatic 46 is an exclusive standout from this series. It offers unparalleled style at sea with its brightly colored dials, luminous hands and indexes, and scratch-resistant ceramic-inlay bezels. This distinguished Breitling watch is available with an option of rubber or metal straps, complete with a folding clasp. Breitling Aviator 8
An ode to Breitling’s legacy in the skies, the time-only Aviator 8 brings the classic pilot watch into the 21st century. You'll find many chronographs and 12-hour bezels here, and many of the designs will be familiar—the black and gold color schema, the minimal Arabic numerals, and the wide sword-shaped hands. All told, the Aviator 8 collection from Breitling is the perfect compromise for jet-setters who want to rock a timepiece that exudes a classic aviation aesthetic, but still looks modern and feels comfortable to wear.
One of the best models among the range is the Aviator 8 B35 Automatic Unitime, a world timer watch that's perfect for travelers, displaying the time in 24 different time zones simultaneously and alternating between them with ease.
Breitling Premier
Breitling’s Premier revives the elegance of 1940s Breitling designs without sacrificing modern functionality. This line features more expensive chronographs and day-date models, with dials in black, white, and deep blue. Each Premier watch is distinguished by its clean lines and smart design details. Premier watches celebrate the best of horology, with complications like moon phases and tourbillons on full display.
Here, it's hard to ignore the Premier B01 Chronograph 42, which couples high-grade performance with a striking black and white design (affectionately dubbed ‘The Panda’)—perfect for everyday sophistication. As with all Breitling watches, the 42mm Premier line features the impressive COSC-certified Caliber 01 movement, so you can be sure your watch is always on time.
A LITTLE MORE BREITLING
Also available from Breitling is the Avenger series, with the bold Avenger Chronograph GMT 45 leading the line. There’s also the Colt, Galactic, Bentley (yes, the motor company), Aerospace, the more dressy Montbrilliant and Transocean, and more—all of which embody the same excellent precision and craftsmanship that Breitling is known for.
Recent times have seen the introduction of more contemporary designs aimed at a more trendy demographic, such as the Breitling Endurance Pro University Edition, Super Avenger Chronograph 48, and Breitling Super AVI B04 Chronograph GMT 46 Mosquito Night Fighter.
