t model there is no signature red lettered "Colt" on the face of the watch (only the second hand is colored with a signature red tipped arrow). The military times are also missing from the face of this Colt watch. Both of those things are available if you purchase the slightly cheaper Colt "Quartz" version. However, I prefer this "Automatic" model. The aesthetics of this watch are simpler. It's as if Breitling was listening to some of the critiques of the brand and fine tuned them with this watch. At 41mm it does not seem like a massive cuckoo clock worn on your wrist. The simpler markings do not scream "LOOK! I have an expensive branded watch!" Both Quartz and Automatic versions require periodic maintenance to keep them in tip top shape but I like the in house engine and the idea of wearing this Automatic mechanical marvel. Breitling is turning its recent negative imagery around by making in house engines and tweaking it's designs.

I recently traveled and many of the airports with Breitling outlets all had the Tempest Gray version on display (no blue, black or silver). I think it looks sharp and even I thought I might have felt a bit remorseful I chose the blue..... nope! I am very very pleased with the blue version.
