Barware & Dinnerware
Since 1830, Christofle has represented the finest of decorative silver-smithing, a practice which has transformed tableware to an art. From its conception, Christofle has operated its own studio staffed with artists, designers and sculptors to create extraordinary pieces. Every major aesthetic era is represented within the Christofle collections - historicism, naturalism, Orientalism, Japonisme, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, modernism and many more. Several Christofle pieces have found a home in the permanent collections of museums throughout Europe. Christofle was the first French company to use electrolysis to silver-plate metal, as well as the first to create several different finishes in silver-smithing, all of which contributed to a smoother, richer coloring. Christofle's clientele has included several royal commissions, including King Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III. In addition, multiple luxury hotels, airlines and ocean liners have chosen Christofle as their official silver supplier.
